श्री अग्रवाल शिक्षा मंडल (रजि.), मथुरा

About Us

Shri Agrawal Shiksha Mandal (Regd.), which started as Shri Ramlal Agrawal Baal Sabha in July 1922, had one main goal: to help the community. They began their journey by opening a primary school in 1923. They didn't have their building then, so they rented one. Shri Agrawal Shiksha Mandal has grown over the years, just like a banyan tree. It has symbolized strength and support for many educational and medical institutions. As time passed, Shri Agrawal Shiksha Mandal didn't stop at just one school. We wanted to make an enormous impact, so they started more educational and medical institutions. These institutions are like branches of the banyan tree, spreading knowledge and care to the community.

First of all, Shri Dwarika Prasad Bhartia ji took charge as the first founder president of Shri Agarwal Shiksha Mandal, and Shri Prabhudayal Mittal ji was the first secretary of this institution. In this way, as the first dignitaries, their names are inscribed in the institution's history. There is now a provision for election of office bearers of Shri Agarwal Shiksha Mandal and all the institutions run by it after three years. The Chairman/Secretary/Chairman/Vice Chairman of Shri Agarwal Education Board and all its institutions are ex-officio members of the Executive Committee.

History

Usually, all castes organizations and their social functioning have been based on their respective Panchayats.. There was also a caste panchayat of the Agrawals in Mathura, the existence of which can be traced back almost a century ago. At that time, there were numerous factions within this caste, with several classes and their respective leaders called Panch-Chaudharies, who were considered chiefs of their factions. They attempted to resolve issues related to their caste organization and improvement through these councils, but due to embarrassments in mutual disputes among their factions, the work of organization and improvement was greatly hindered.

Around 80 years ago from now, some progressive Agrawal dignitaries in Mathura organized a huge conference with the intention of uniting the various factions of this caste and fostering mutual harmony among the Agrawal. This convention emphasized the unity of the Agrawal. The convention took place on December 21, 1889, corresponding to the tenth day of the month of Poush in the year 1946 Vikram Samvat, at the residence of Lala Janakidas residents of raya in Katra Dori Bazaar, Mathura. The conference was presided over by Babu Muralidhar Agrawal, the then Deputy Collector of Mathura. This conference achieved much success in its objectives.

Agrawal Sabha

Following this convention, an environment was created where it became necessary to form a representative assembly by bringing together all factions of the Agrawal Panchayat. Consequently, due to the efforts of prominent individuals such as Seth Keshavdev residents of Deeg, Babu Nanakchand Munsarim, Chaudhari Keshavdev, Lala Shyamlal Kitab Wale, Master Kishanlal, and Lala Sheetlaprasad, among others, the local "Agrawal Sabha" was established in 1904 (1961 Vikram Samvat).

Establishment of the Agrawal Shiksha Mandal

The "Agrawal Sabha" introduced awareness in the field of education in 1907 established the "Agrawal Baal Pathshala". When the Agrawal Sabha purchased a house in Kushak Gali for a Dharmshala on December 15, 1911, the operation of the school began in the lower floor of that building. Subsequently, due to the enthusiastic efforts of Agrawal youths, on December 22, 1920, the organization named "Agrawal Baal Sabha" came into existence. Lala Lallomal Ji, the former president of the Agrawal Sabha, took charge of the school. At that time, along with the youth members of the Agrawal Baal Sabha, supporters such as Lala Naval Kishore Taal Wale, Lala Purushottam das Kanthi Wale, Lala Gyan Swaroop Sarraf, and several other well-known individuals were also involved, and the members of the Baal Sabha were not just limited to youngsters, signifying the significance of the name 'Baal Sabha.'

Later, the primary focus of the Sabha became to promote education. Consequently, it was supposed necessary to restructure the organization's name and modify the school curriculum to better align with its objectives. Therefore, on July 31, 1922, a crucial meeting of the "Agrawal Baal Sabha" took place. In this meeting, it was assertively agreed that the organization's primary function should revolve around the promotion and dissemination of education. As a result, the organization's name was changed to "Agrawal Shiksha Mandal". This change in name led to the realization among the Agrawal community members who had a strong desire to contribute significantly to the education sector that their aspirations were becoming real through this new organization. Due to relentless efforts, the government also acknowledged and granted recognition to the Mandal.

For the functioning of the initial members and the Executive Committee, the election of officials took place on the same day with the estabilishment of mandal. Babu Dwarakaprasad Bhartiya was appointed as the initial President, and Babu Prabhudayal Meetal as the Secretary. Particularly mentioned were Surajbhan Pipe Wale, Gyan Swaroop Sarraf, Krishnagopal Eran, Purushottamdas Kanthi Wale, Ramnarayan Muneem, and Motilal Dudhwale. In 1922, Shri Mangilal Gupta and Lala Naval Kishor Taal Wale joined this institution, followed by Shri Laxmanprasad Gupta and Shri Radharaman Nahar Daftar Wale in 1923. Their active participation significantly contributed to the management of this institution.

Office and Work Area

This institution began its work with great enthusiasm. Its initial meetings were held in the public library, but soon, the need for a private space became apparent. It was decided that the local "Agrawal Dharmshala" would serve the purpose. Accordingly, the meetings of this institution were arranged at the Agrawal Dharmshala located in Kushak gali. Initially, the institution engaged in social services such as organizing weddings, setting up drinking water at fairs, and conducting funeral rites for poor individuals. Although these efforts earned the Sabha a fame for its service-oriented approach, the enthusiastic members sought to undertake more concrete tasks. After much deliberation, they concluded that the most pressing need at that time was to propagate education in the city. Consequently, they decided to open a school. It was agreed to gather funds internally initially and later seek public assistance. As a result, the members collected a sum of 600.
